100% Gomma Edits by Jerry Bouthier (Maxi)

Jerry_Bouthier_Cover_final_edits_1

Cat#: Gomma DT035
Release: 27 July 2011

You all know Jerry Bouthier*, we guess? His Boombox & Ponystep compilations for Kitsuné have been big in the last years. Jerry is a big fan of Gomma and proposed us to do a few edits and a 100% Gomma mix with Gomma Dance Tracks releases only. We liked the idea… to have somebody from this slightly other angle to re-interpret our recent catalogue.

So we gonna release his 100% Gomma mix and 4 Jerry Bouthier Edits in July and August. Included reworkings of In Flagranti’s remix for Golden Bug, The Twelves remix for Munk, Alan1’s track Concertmate and a as yet unreleased THC remix for Diskokaine.

Buy:

*Jerry Bouthier: Parisian DJ who moved to London. Compilation maker for Kitsune. Activist of the French House scene, music supervisor for Vivien Westwood, DJ at events of Gareth Pugh, producer under the name of JBAG and resident at London clubs like Boombox and Ponystep.

Esperanza “Sirena” (Video)

Esperanza is the new band on Gomma. But not what you might expect… The 3 guys from Italy have a very very own sound. It’s a lot about atmospheres, natural sounds, melancholy. The first EP “Sirena” (including remixes by Luke Abbott and Broke One) has just been released on Gomma — Album in winter.

Esperanza – Sirena EP (Maxi)

ESPERANZA-HD

Cat#: Gomma 159
Release: 8 July 2011

Esperanza is the new group on Gomma. Something that Gomma is very very proud of. Three guys from Italy that combine huge musical talent, an unimitable phantasy, knowledge of music history and technical skill to create a new language in music. All three guys play different instruments and have been playing and producing music for years.

Even though they are all between 24 and 29 years old. Carlo, also known as producer Cécile has already been releasing on Gomma and stirred quite a buzz in the UK for his remixes, as the one for Vampire Weekend that was defined by Erol Alkan on BBC as “this is how a remix has to sound today!”. As a bassplayer Matteo has been touring all over the place with a freak discoband called Disco Drive and opened for acts such as Liars, Klaxons, !!!, Foals etc.. and Sergio produces indie pop records in Italy and has been touring a lot with the band Hot Gossip.

On Esperanza they create this completely new sound that mixes influences from late San Francisco psychedelic vibes, Icelandic atmospheres, Tropical vibes, Duesseldorf electronics, mid 90’s Detroit techno and pure Anima Latina – the universe of Italian melodic and harmonics. Esperanza is in the air, but she’s already far from here. The EP features recording artist Banjo Or Freakout (Memphis Industries, Walls/Kompakt) on vocals and remixes by Luke Abbott and Broke One.

Already supported by James Holden, Laurent Garnier, Cosmo Vitelli, Luke Solomon, Tim Love Lee, Lovebirds, Prince Language…

Munk “Mis Labios” (Video)

Mis Labios – the new single from Munk‘s “The Bird and The Bird” album came out last week and is getting full support by London first league DJs such as Fatboy Slim, Horse Meat Disco, Annie Mac and many others. (Check the amazing Joyce Muniz and Black Van remixes).

After all the boring clishee piano house tracks of last year this song brings pianos and house on another level. Call it Acid Boogaloo, Barrio House or Latindisco. Its a heavy Latin Piano riff in the style of late 70ies New York Salsa that meets 90ies Acid sounds and nasty Spanish vocals. You ever heard a track like this?

Video made by German upcoming photographer Jan Schuenke, Germany leading street illustrator and writer PAZE, and Maceo. Edited by Matthias Dörfler.
