Moullinex is on fire. After his tropical house anthem “Sunflare” he smashed it up with the vintage acid Modular Jam – which was supported by Tim Sweeney, Hot Chip, Digitalism and even British old school house legend Ashley Beedle. Now he gave Modular Jam to some friends and interesting newcomers to rework: Justin Faust, Earl Grey aka Danny from The C90’s, Say Again and Worship.
Yeah! Finally out now: The debut album of ESPERANZA. Three kids from Italy making music that is out of any categories. ESPERANZA mix 90’s Detroit Techno with the universe of Italian melodies with a 70ies Psychedelic touch. Or as a German journalist described it: Brian Eno having a session with Carl Craig. Produced by Air and arranged by Morricone…
The album features recording artist Banjo Or Freakout (Walls/Kompakt) on vocals. Remixes by Luke Abbott (Border Community), Broke One and Walls (Kompakt). Check also the video for the new single Jaipur. Desert techno!
With Kompakt artist Walls on board the second single of Esperanza already shows the direction of the new Italian trio on Gomma. The second single re-interprets the idea of the Gomma universe perfectly. It is Techno. But it is also dirty Surf Rock or transcendental body music.
Jaipur could be the soundtrack on a Tarantino movie as well as be played in the desert on a camelrace. (Watch the video!). The Esperanza kids had quite a buzz on their first single “Sirena” (feat.: Banjo Or Freakout ) with DJ’s like Gui Boratto, James Holden, Luke Abbott supporting them.
There is so much buzz about this release already – it’s crazy. For our band The KDMS, Morgan Geist did one of his very rare remixes and people seem to love it. We got mails from all kind of DJ’s: From Soul Clap and Tim Sweeney who already played it in his show. Jaymo, Tensnake and Aeroplane who wrote that this is “one of my favorite tracks of the last couple of months to play “. Axel Boman described it as “shimmering little diamonds in the autumn night, this will guide cold dancers towards warm experiences all over the world.” Tom Trago, Pilooski are playing it too. Wow! Rare that so many different DJs love the same tune.
So its a good start for new Gomma band The KDMS. Their debut album will be released in 2012. Expect some more “shimmering little diamonds…”
Having just released the “Erodiscotique EP 2″, Dimitri From Paris and his buddy DJ Rocca come back with the second strike: “The Edit Battle”.
They asked some friends to make freestyle edits of their songs. Domenico Torti, Funkafilia, The BladeRunners, and Latin Raz Kaz reworked the track “A Reason For Living” from the first EP “I Love New York” and created some completely new versions. Functionable, funky and fucked up. If you remember Domenico Torti’s well-known edit for Daft Punk’s “Voyager” a few years back, you can imagine what expects you here.
This is a free download for all buyers of the new 12″ “Erodiscotique EP 2″, available now in record stores and digitally on Beatport. Or for sale as a separate digital release.
Dimitri From Paris and DJ Rocca are back! French house legend Dimitri From Paris comes with the second EP on Gomma. And he is on the roll. His last release had amazing feedback and has put him back on the dance map. Getting full support by everybody from Soul Clap and DJ T to Glimmers and even Erol – the first Erodiscotique EP “I Love New York” was a hit. No wonder it reached No 1 on Juno in the UK. Now the second EP is ready. And be sure: this is a bomb too.
Basically it’s early 90ies hip house and electroboogie with a big disco vibe. Including a cover of The Pet Shop Boys’ “Domino Dancing” (feat. Tim Benton) and the dancefloor burner Ero Disco Theme.. we are glad to have the boys on our label.
Digital release today, 12″ vinyl is available on Monday and includes a download card for the release plus an exclusive download of the EP “A Reason For Living (The Edit Battle)”, including edits by Domenico Torti, Funkafilia, The BladeRunners, and Latin Raz Kaz.
