This week we release the third Gomma EP of our 2 disco maestros Dimitri From Paris & DJ Rocca. Early 90ies NYC vibe! We are getting amazing feedback on this. Some say it’s their best EP till now. We like expecially Busy P.’s quote! He wrote us yesterday: “Dimitori je t’aime. Gomma je t’aime. Vive le disco!”
Check “Pretty Baby” feat. Hard Ton.
Having just released the “Erodiscotique EP 2″, Dimitri From Paris and his buddy DJ Rocca come back with the second strike: “The Edit Battle”.
They asked some friends to make freestyle edits of their songs. Domenico Torti, Funkafilia, The BladeRunners, and Latin Raz Kaz reworked the track “A Reason For Living” from the first EP “I Love New York” and created some completely new versions. Functionable, funky and fucked up. If you remember Domenico Torti’s well-known edit for Daft Punk’s “Voyager” a few years back, you can imagine what expects you here.
This is a free download for all buyers of the new 12″ “Erodiscotique EP 2″, available now in record stores and digitally on Beatport. Or for sale as a separate digital release.
Dimitri From Paris and DJ Rocca are back! French house legend Dimitri From Paris comes with the second EP on Gomma. And he is on the roll. His last release had amazing feedback and has put him back on the dance map. Getting full support by everybody from Soul Clap and DJ T to Glimmers and even Erol – the first Erodiscotique EP “I Love New York” was a hit. No wonder it reached No 1 on Juno in the UK. Now the second EP is ready. And be sure: this is a bomb too.
Basically it’s early 90ies hip house and electroboogie with a big disco vibe. Including a cover of The Pet Shop Boys’ “Domino Dancing” (feat. Tim Benton) and the dancefloor burner Ero Disco Theme.. we are glad to have the boys on our label.
Digital release today, 12″ vinyl is available on Monday and includes a download card for the release plus an exclusive download of the EP “A Reason For Living (The Edit Battle)”, including edits by Domenico Torti, Funkafilia, The BladeRunners, and Latin Raz Kaz.
Double feature on the Gomma Podcast. Dimitri from Paris and DJ Rocca teamed up for their new Erodiscotique 12″ on Gomma, and here are two mixtapes by both of these musical talents. Full of 80ies and 90ies house classics. An unexpected and unbelievable trip back in time!
Keep it street….. Dimitri from Paris is on the roll and his buddy DJ Rocca from Italy is rolling with him. The great, very 80ies song featuring Fred Ventura is part of their new E.P. on Gomma. Yes! The real Ventura – the old Italo Euro Trash Crooner legend from the 80ies. To illustrate the song we cut a few old breakdance and NY films that you might now..:). Enjoy!
Today is the day! Legendary Dimitri from Paris is back with an own E.P. Not disco, not house, but a late 80ies/ early 90ies inspired sound that combines boogie, hip house and NY dance pop. Featuring another legend on the mic: Italohouse crooner Fred Ventura.
Dimitri is the man who pioneered house music in France, who influenced all the big names of the French scene from the 90ies and from today. From Daft Punk to Justice. He is the man who released crazy compilations on BBE, Defected etc. The man who always has been ahead of it’s time. He teamed up with Italian producer DJ Rocca and created an E.P. for Gomma. A record that shows how the sound of 2012 could be. . This EP is released today on Gomma on Vinyl and digitally. And has a huge buzz already.
Danny Krivit: “I like it” Tommie Sunshine: “Your Gomma release is bananas!!!” Soul Clap: “This is amazing, total 90’s revival.. Can’t wait to play” Mike Monday: “LOVE THIS!!!! Red hot…”
Tomorrow finally we gonna release a record we are very proud of: the long awaited new EP by Dimitri From Paris & DJ Rocca from Italy with their project Erodiscotique. As a little teaser we send you this little video that our boy Florian at Gomma office did for the Italo version of the track. Have fun… (and by the way: vocals on this track by Fred Ventura! If you don’t know the guy … Youtube him! You gonna have fun..)
Everybody has been talking about the new wave of french sound. But nobody has been mentioning that there is one guy who was the pioneer of electronic dance music in France and influenced all of France’s dance stars. From Cassius to Justice, from Daft Punk to Gilbert. This man is Dimitri From Paris. The guy who brought house music to France in the late 80ies. He later became world-famous for his crate digger compilations on BBE, Defected and other labels.
Now, after many years Dimitri is back. He recorded some ultra fresh music with Italian producer DJ Rocca. For Gomma. We’re not talking about another boring house record. And no noise-techno of course. Dimitri comes back with an late 80ies / early 90ies Boogie/ Hip House record that will blow your mind. To be released on Gomma on 15.April. Here is a little teaser…
